While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. Luke 2:6-7
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
When Jesus’s parents brought him to the Temple to follow their custom, he was met by a saint named Simeon, who had been waiting for Israel’s consolation. When Simeon saw Jesus, he gave this beautiful prayer:
“Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word;
for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:29-32
